MARCH 2021 FAN OF THE MONTH WINNERS

In March 2020, the pandemic impacted the whole world and we all had to live according to the “new normal.” The March of 2021 showed us how resilient the human spirit really is. Not only are we still here, but we continue to live life as well as possible. We are still capable of enjoying the good things in life. 

Such resilience was first demonstrated to the world by women. Women who accomplished great things despite social limits, women of compassion who reached out to help those less fortunate, and women who are raising the future generations based on the values of courage, strength, and kindness.  

We hope our March 2021 FOTM contest showed you that inner strength and grace can change the world...and add color to life at large!  

For our March Fan of the Month challenge, we asked our beloved ColorIt family to color in any ColorIt coloring page that highlights the strength and grace of women. 

At the end of the month, the ColorIt team will choose three (3) submissions based on the set criteria and three (3) more random picks to keep things fun. 

The 6 talented winners will then receive a $25 gift card from ColorIt. You can even double your prize amount if you color the page using any of our coloring mediums.

When did you first pick up a coloring book?
At a very young age. Coloring is for all.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.
I can color anywhere anytime.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.
Pick out a picture and ColorIt.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?
It definitely adds relaxing to my life.

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?
Just keep coloring and your confidence will grow.

What's your favorite ColorIt book?
I love them all.

What title would you like to see in the future?
Something Retro.

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?
I love coloring. It is so relaxing and helps with my imagination. Anything can be any color of your choosing. Coloring is very freeing.

When did you first pick up a coloring book?
I used to color a lot when i was younger & it just kinda stuck with me.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.
Coming home from work after a stressful day, after i've eaten dinner.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.
I usually turn on music before I start & then I usually look up other pictures online & try to replicate those, especially when I'm coloring flowers & other plants.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?
I've won a contest, so that's pretty cool!

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?
Just don't give up! Try watching videos of how other people color & you'll learn what techniques suit you best.

What's your favorite ColorIt book?
My favorite ColorIt book is the tropical one!

What title would you like to see in the future?
I would like to see an under the sea theme!

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?
Sometimes it takes days to finish a picture, which can be kind of discouraging, but it's always worth it seeing the final product turning out better than expected. I'd like to start documenting the stages my pictures go through before it's finally finished.

When did you first pick up a coloring book?
I started coloring and entering coloring contests when I was a child. But
it wasn't until a few years ago that I picked the habit back up as an
adult--and that is what it has become: a healthy habit.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.
I have a small desk set up overlooking my backyard, and I can hear the wind chimes hanging on my back porch. My German shepherd, Dottie, is usually lying nearby.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.
I make time every morning to do a little coloring while sipping a cup of coffee. 

How has coloring changed or added to your life?
I love the sense of creating something beautiful. As a veterinarian, it gives me a chance to relax before a hectic day, and it gives me a sense of control in a world where I can't control many other things.

What advice would you give someone who isn't confident about their coloring technique?
I urge them to continue to practice, trying new mediums and techniques--and always finish what you start, even if you don't like the way it's going. You never know what masterpiece you may end up with.

What's your favorite ColorIt book?
I love to color mandalas--I find the order and repetition of patterns
calming--but I also love ColorIt's Calming Doodles and Colorful Flowers,
which I turn into brightly-colored greeting cards for friends and family
members.

What title would you like to see in the future?
In the future, I would like to see more mandalas from ColorIt.
