When did you first pick up a coloring book?

My daughter sent me a coloring book and colored pencils last March at the beginning of the Covid outbreak.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.

A quiet place with good lighting.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

I pick out the colors I want to use first.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

Coloring is very relaxing.

What advice would you give someone who isn’t confident about their coloring technique?

There are many videos on line to watch about coloring techniques that give excellent ideas and advice.

What’s your favorite ColorIt book?

Tropical Scenes.

What title would you like to see in the future?

Anything nautical.

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

If you love being creative you will love coloring.

JANUARY FAN OF THE MONTH WINNER: BRENDA SMITH

When did you first pick up a coloring book?

I was 6 and I remember receiving my first box of 64-count crayons with a built-in sharpener. I colored every page of my Snow White coloring book.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.

Sitting in my overstuffed chair facing big windows with a view of the pond and woods, and coloring while listening to an audiobook.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

Glancing at each page in the selected ColorIt book; I turn the pages until I choose the one that I see in my mind as a finished colored picture. (Good or bad, sometimes the finished picture does not turnout quit as I had visioned.)

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

From the first ColorIt book, I have enjoyed the peaceful artistic process. I try to improve my craft with new techniques and mixing my color tools. It gives me satisfaction when I move out of my comfort zone like with the ColorIt Calming Doodles book.

What advice would you give someone who isn’t confident about their coloring technique?

Don't be hard on yourself. Take a risk with trying new color combinations and/or techniques. And finish what you start... you may find when you finish the picture that you messed-up it turns out to be your own artistic masterpiece.

What’s your favorite ColorIt book?

I love working in all the ColorIt books that I own, but I will select as a favorite Tropical Scenes. It was my first book, and I have colored every page!

What title would you like to see in the future?

I have two thoughts.... I would like to see a book that featured scenes that reminded you of famous movies. 🎥 Also, I would love a book featuring scenes of backyard songbirds.

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

Thank you for top-of-the-line quality books and art tools. ColorIt has given me peaceful and calming hours of artistic enjoyment. I also enjoy sharing my pictures and checking out fellow coloring artists work on your galleries and contest pages. Thanks again. - Brenda

What a dreamy color palette! This is one of the hardest pages to color because of its intricate details and yet Miracle pulled quite a miracle and did such a good job with it. 💜
