JULY 2019 FAN OF THE MONTH WINNERS

Did you have a blast this past July? We sure did! Aside from enjoying amazing fireworks shows, trips to the pool, and tasty BBQ, we also saw dozens of mesmerizing art submissions from our loyal fans!

Each month, we pick three winning submissions based on a specific criteria. The fun doesn’t stop there because we also choose three more entries at random.

Each winner gets a $25 ColorIt gift card and has the chance to double their prize if their photo features ColorIt Pencils, Markers, Gel Pens, or Watercolor Brush Pens.

July Fan of the Month Winner: Gerri Duquette

When did you first pick up a coloring book?

I always loved to color, my first coloring book, when I was about 9, my favorite was my Roy Rogers and Trigger coloring book.

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.

In my art room, that my husband created for me, by a window with beautiful sunlight that gives you that peacefulness.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

That’s hard to explain, but I actually make that time for myself. Even it is just 30 minutes before bed, it’s my coloring time.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

Coloring is creative, and I find creativity very relaxing and rewarding.

What advice would you give someone who isn’t confident about their coloring technique?

Should never feel unsure about your coloring. Everyone has creativity in them and don’t try to create the perfect masterpiece, enjoy what you are doing.

What’s your favorite ColorIt book?

Colors of Nature! When sitting by the window with the sunlight and the birds chirping outside.

What title would you like to see in the future?

Something with fashion, pretty ladies with hair done, lovely dresses, sun dresses, and fun shoes.

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

Never feel guilty about your creative time, and that you never have enough pencils, pens or coloring books.

When did you first pick up a coloring book?

I picked up a coloring book about 3 yrs ago. I happened to find ColorIt website & started coloring their pics about 2 yrs. ago

Describe your perfect coloring atmosphere.

I love to color sitting in my recliner with my lap desk. TV is on in the background or country music.

Tell us about your creative process when you get ready to color.

Most of the time I don't really have a plan. I just pick colors that I like. I do enjoy using many colors.

How has coloring changed or added to your life?

Coloring has given me plenty of "me" time. I am relaxed when I color & have a clear head. All is right with the world.

What advice would you give someone who isn’t confident about their coloring technique?

As I was told in the beginning, there is no "wrong" way to color. As you color more & more you pick up tips & I started using those tips so I could learn. There are some very wonderful people at ColorIt. They have always answered my questions. Also, your fellow colorist are always helpful as well.

What’s your favorite ColorIt book?

"Colorful Expressions" I think is my favorite coloring book. That is a hard question as there isn't a coloring book that I don't just love....

What title would you like to see in the future?

I really don't know what title I would like to see in future as I would love any title. Maybe a "Colorful Expressions 2"?

Is there anything else you want to share about your love of coloring?

I urge everyone with any interest to just give coloring a try. ColorIt offers some quality products. They have the coloring books, markers, gels, pencils & more to offer & that just makes coloring more fun.

I find a picture I want to color then look at it a color comes to mind then where I should use it.

If your satisfied with how you colored and enjoyed coloring that's all that matters

What title would you like to see in the future?

Colorful Portraits ( like Norman Rockwell )
