New Year’s Colorful Traditions
 Â
Want to sweeten your luck this year?
We’ve had quite an eventful 2020, and it’s understandable that we would all like to invite more good fortune into our homes this 2021. Here are some New Year good luck traditions from all over the world. Are you already practicing some of these?
A kiss for good luck. At the stroke of midnight, give someone you love a kiss. This tradition is borrowed from English and German folklore, which state that the rest of the year will be dictated by the first person one came into contact with when the New Year opened.
Eating 12 grapes. Some Southeast Asian countries, like the Philippines, consider the shape of the grape lucky. In Spain, 12 grapes represent each month of the New Year, so every grape you pop in your mouth means a month of good fortune.
Â
Wear the right color. Some countries, such as those in Latin America, believe that the color of our, ehem, underwear on New Year’s Eve can bring us good luck. Wear red for love, white for peace, and yellow for all-around good fortune.
Â
But nothing is better at inviting good luck than appreciating the good that you already have in life and sharing it. So go ahead, download this sweet free coloring page, and enjoy coloring it into a treat for everyone’s eyes.
