Why don’t you kick back and enjoy the ride?

Winston Churchill once said, “No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.” As avid fans of the outdoors, imagination, and animals, we imagine a certain spark light up our inner children’s eyes when we think of riding horseback.

According to a British Horse Society study, more than 80 percent of horseback riders feel more "cheerful, relaxed, happy, or active" after riding. The researchers suggested this happy feeling might have to do with the sense of companionship between them and the horse, these riders oftentimes report.

These domesticated horses have formed such a close bond with us, that even they take on what the riders feel. Some studies have also linked horseback riding with increases in self-esteem and children’s behavioral and learning abilities. A true companion of man!
