All holidays have their colors. Valentines’ day has red, white, and pink. Christmas has red, green, and gold while the Fourth of July has red, white, and blue. So, what about Halloween? The answer is orange, black, and purple!Â
Orange represents the turning of leaves and vegetables, as well as the fire that burns during harvest festivals. And since Halloween originates from a Celtic harvest festival called Samhain, it was only natural for it to adapt to the hue of the bright fire that warms the people.
Black, on the other hand, depicts the dark half of the year or the winter months that came after autumn. It also has another significance - the breaking of the barrier between the physical and spirit world which is believed to happen on All Hallows' Eve.
As for purple? Well, nobody knows for sure but there is a theory that it was added for its ties to magic and mystique. Regardless, it’s the perfect contrast to orange and black.
Wouldn’t you say orange, black, and purple make up the perfect spooky palette? Summon up your coloring tricks and conjure yourself a treat! Download now and start coloring!Â
